If you wanted to ever learn how to make games for the iPhone and don’t know where to start, then one of the better options is to buy yourself a Game Kit and work through the manual that comes with it to get a good understanding of game development.

About a week ago I purchased a product called ‘The iPhone Game Kit‘ based on reviews and the sales copy on the product website.

After reading through the manual that came with the game kit I quickly realised that this was no game kit, but rather a game skeleton for a RPG type game. It in no way teaches you about game development, it doesn’t even come close.

In all fairness tho, the development of this kit is highly active with updates coming out at least once a week. However, even tho the code to the kit is being updated on a regular basis, the manual is lacking behind quite a bit. So if you are new to game development, or even new to developing on the iPhone, then I don’t think this is the game kit for you.

Besides these bad points, I figured Blizzard has made some really cool games in the past and I figured I would enjoy this one just as much as I have Diablo II and WoW.

3 Hours to wait before I can play it though!
